The Full Review
When it comes to light output, this is a great flashlight. On the high setting, this flashlight produces 900 lumens, which is more than enough for almost any situation. There is also a medium and low light mode, which is great for situations where you don’t need so much light.
For example, inside a tent, the high mode is too bright but the low light setting is perfect. The only issue is that if you were last using the light in high mode, when you turn it on again it will still be in the high mode. This can sometimes be a bit overwhelming at night inside your tent.
The Anker Bolder LC90 2-cell flashlight is a great size for camping. The handle is large enough for a full handhold without being too large to use in smaller situations.
On the other hand, this flashlight could be a little too large if you are wanting a flashlight that you keep in your pocket all the time. It will fit in your pocket without much of a problem but it’s probably too large to want to keep it there all day.
This flashlight is made from tough aluminum that can take some abuse. I never worry about accidentally dropping the flashlight and having it break. When you feel the flashlight you can tell that it is made well and can handle heavy usage.
The only issue I have had with the flashlight is the lanyard. The string on the lanyard that attaches to the flashlight broke our first camping trip with the light. I ultimately just tied it back on and it has held solid ever since.
The run time on this flashlight is pretty good and is better than most other comparable flashlights. On medium mode, the LC90 2-cell flashlight can run for 13 hours. You can get even more time if you run it on low.
That’s not a bad run time for a flashlight that produces so much light. I used the flashlight on our week-long camping trips without having to recharge it at any point during the trip. For most camping trips, you won’t have an issue with the battery running out.
Extras is the one area that the LC90 could do a little better. As previously mentioned, it does come with a lanyard that attaches to the flashlight but that is it in terms of extras. It does not include a pocket clip, carrying case, or anything else.
It does come with a USB charging cable but I feel that is mandatory for a rechargeable flashlight.
