The Final Say:Â The Venustas Heated Jacket is a great option for those looking for an additional source of heat when out camping or in the outdoors in colder weather. This jacket boasts heating elements on the torso, back, and shoulders that will keep you warm in some of the coldest weather.
While the batter on the jacket will not last an entire day it is a great way to stay warm with fewer layers during a good portion of the day or night. The jacket has multiple heat settings and on the highest setting, you can easily get too warm if the temperature is not that cold outside.
We would recommend this jacket for those who want a little extra warmth and comfort and will be camping where they can easily recharge the battery.
- [Larger Heating Area] The ultra-thin carbon fiber heating elements generate heat across the left & right shoulders, left & right chest, and upper back for core body warmth.
- [Quick & Long Lasting Warmth] The jacket heats up in seconds with the help of a 7.4V 4800mAh certified battery on a single charge that can operate up to 10 hours on low, 6 hours on medium, and 3 hours on high.
The Full Review
Heating Ability
This heated jacket from Venustas does a really good job of producing heat inside the jacket. There are five separate heating pads in the jacket. Two in the front, one in each shoulder, and one in the back.
Within 30 seconds of turning the jacket on, you can begin to feel the heating pads do their job. It will get up to its full heat within a few minutes and will definitely keep you warm even in colder weather.
The only area that this jacket could do better in when it comes to heating is on the back. The two heating pads in the front and on the shoulders do a great job. The one in the back also does a good job at producing heat but because there is only one there is less coverage in the back.
While the back still produces a good amount of heat, you can feel a difference between the front and back.
Quality of Construction
This is a very well-made jacket that feels like it could handle a good amount of usage. The seams feel good and sturdy and the zipper is not a cheap zipper that you often find on lower quality jackets.
Additionally, the Venustas Heated Jacket the entire outer layer of the jacket is made from water-resistant material, which is very useful if you will be in rainy or snowy conditions.
Comfort
Even with all the heating elements and components, you will be pleasantly surprised at how comfortable this jacket is. The jacket is true to its sizing and isn’t too baggy or loose in any areas.
Even if you don’t need the heating elements, this would still be a very comfortable jacket to wear in almost any condition.
The only area of improvement is not necessarily an issue with comfort but of the simplicity of using the jacket. The on/off button is on the check, which isn’t difficult to access but is sometimes hard to see as the collar of the jacket will cover it.
Additionally, the button glows a specific color to indicate the heating level. It would but nice to be able to have that button either somewhere in a sleeve or right on the inside of the jacket so you don’t have to walk around with a glowing button on your chest.
Battery Life
This heated jacket really shines when it comes to battery life. It has 3 different heating levels and on low, the battery will last for 8-10 hours. That is an entire day of battery life! On medium, it will last 5-6 hours and on high it will last 3 hours.
Unless you are wearing the jacket in extremely cold weather you will do fine on the medium or low setting, which gives you a very long battery life.
Extras
Not only does this jacket come with all the features you’d expect but there are a couple of extra features that really sweeten the deal. The first is a removable hood. In some conditions, it is really nice to have a hood but in others, a hood can be pretty annoying. This jacket comes with a removable hood, making it very easy to have what you need when you need it.
Another nice extra feature is the phone pocket on the outside of the jacket. It’s a great place to put your phone, where it’s easily accessible without the need to unzip your jacket when you need to grab your phone.
