The Final Say: Surviveware’s Large First Aid Kit is a very robust first aid kit that will cover almost all the aspects of first aid that you’d like to have with you on a camping trip. The kit includes 200 first aid items and supplies that go beyond the basics of first aid.
This is a larger kit, which is great for a camping trip but wouldn’t be a great option for hiking or an activity that would need you to carry the first aid kit with you. With that being said, the kit includes a 50 piece mini first aid kit that is great when you need something a little more portable.
Organization is a high priority with this kit. Each item/category of items has its own pocket that is labeled. If you are looking for a truly complete first aid kit to take with you on your next camping trip, this is one of your best options.
The Full Review
First Aid Supplies
The Surviveware Large First Aid Kit is a 200-piece kit that gives you lots of essential first aid supplies. It includes all the basics such as bandages, ointments, PPE, medical tape, and similar items but also includes other items like a whistle, safety pins, emergency blanket, and other unique items.
This is a very comprehensive kit that is a great option for a family or group camping trip. It will help you ensure that you have what you need when it comes to first aid. With that being said, there are a few categories of items that only have 1 or 2 or each item so if you use them on one trip, you’ll need to remember to replace them before your next camping trip.
Quality
The quality of the bag and first aid supplies is high with this kit. The first aid supplies are made specifically for Surviveware and are not simply other brands that they added to the kit.
The zipper on the bag is heavy duty and will be able to handle more use without breaking. Similarly, all the pockets and items in the first aid kit are quality and purposefully built.
Organization
This is one of the most organized first aid kits that you’ll find. Each item inside the kit has a specific place or pocket and everything is labeled. Even inside each pocket, all items are contained inside their own bag that prevents the items from getting lose and scattering.
Similarly, there are extra storage bags included with the kit for some extra items that you might want/need to include.
Portability
Portability is not bad with this kit as it is very easy to carry and move but it is big enough that you probably wouldn’t want to bring with you on a hike or day trip. This is a pro and con. Because of its size, it can contain a lot of items but is a little too big to carry around with you all day.
Surviveware was aware of this issue and so included a small 50-piece kit inside the larger kit. This is great because you can easily grab the mini-kit when headed away from your campsite and still have your first aid basics covered.
Extras/Features
Surviveware does a good job at adding extras to their large first aid kit that you might not have expected. As previously state, the included 50-piece mini-kit is a really nice extra. Beyond the mini-kit, there is also a credit card multi-tool included. This is a really nice bonus as it gives you a few basic tool functions in a very compact size.
Additionally, the bag itself provides a few nice bonuses. It has a great buckled strap that allows you to securely strap the first aid kit to a specific location. Likewise, it has a few extra loops and button straps that give you more options as well as a hook and loop strip that allows you to attach items to the bag.
