The Final Say:
The Mission Mountain A4 Camping Cot is a great option for those looking for something more compact and light weight. It might still be too heavy for a serious backpacking trip, but it is getting close to being a great option for that.
This cot is super easy to set up, fits in small tents, and is a great way to get you off the ground. At just over 4 lbs, this is an easy cot to move around or even carry for a longer distance. It still has plenty of room for an adult but is small enough to fit in those smaller tents.
If you ware looking for a lightweight cot and will get you off the ground and is easy to set up, this is the cot for you.
The Full Review
The Mission Mountain A4 Ultralight Camping Cot is a great cot that minimizes the amount of space it takes in a tent and yet still gets you off the ground. Additionally, it is very easy to set up. It has a lever system that makes attaching the legs very easy. Many cots can be difficult to set up but not this one. You can quickly and easily set up the cot in just a couple of minutes.
The only downside to the cot is that getting all the pieces back into the bag can be difficult. While it is difficult, it feels like the bag is on the smaller side. A slightly larger bag would be nice so that you don’t have to fight with it as much to get everything in the bag.
Comfort
This cot isn’t quite as big as standard-size or extra-large cots, but the A4 Ultralight Cot still has plenty of room for a grown adult. I’ve used this cot on multiple camping trips and haven’t had any issues when it comes to the overall size.
Durability
The cot is well-built and does not feel like it would break easily. With that said, the legs and sidebars are made from aluminum, which makes them lighters, but they might not be as strong as other standard cots.
However, the Mission Mountain A4 Camping Cot does not lack in its ability to hold weight. It has been designed to hold 319 lbs. That is more than enough capacity for most situations and campers.
Size
This is a smaller cot, so it does not provide as much room as some other cots but still provides enough room for most campers. I am 5’10” and had plenty of space when I used it.
This could be a good or bad feature depending on what you are wanting. If you are wanting a cot that has lots of extra space, like the Teton XXL Cot, then this cot does not compare. However, if you are wanting a cot that can fit in almost any tent, even the smaller ones, this is the right cot for you.
It does not take up a lot of extra space, which makes it an excellent option when space is at a premium at your campsite.
Portability
Portability is where the A4 camping cot really shines. The cot only weighs 4.4 lbs and can be easily lifted and carried around by one person using a single hand. When the cot is packed away, it is quite small, taking up very little space.
Features/Extras
While the cot doesn’t come with lots of extras, it does have a couple of extra features that are a nice touch. Attached to the cot is a storage pouch where you can easily store small items like a phone, flashlight, knife, etc.
Additionally, included on the legs are a couple of foam sleeves to be placed at the leg contact points. This little feature helps to keep the cot more stable so that it does not rock back and forth on small rocks or twigs.
